This first installment teaches you some very basic beginner skills in preparation for teaching you to make a plarn rug. This will also get you on the right foot for anything else you may want to make. For additional tutorials please visit theknitwitch (I almost got it right in my videos) http://www.youtube.com/user/theknitwitch

I have already started my pattern but I realized I may be missing a few chains at the end,. How do I add more loops to the starting end of the chain so I dont have to start all over again?

…or needing to weave in every color change? I’m planning on doing intarsia but I wanted to see if there’s anything I should know before I start. For example, since my pattern is pretty much a blue circle in the center of black, I’ll need to have 2 hanging balls of black on either side so I don’t have long strings of black yarn going across the circle in the back of the work. And I also don’t want to do the method that carries both yarns along - too much yarn would be wasted.

I want to make a blanket. I know how to crochet except it always comes out in an oval shape. Can you give me a website to teach me how to crochet a blanket.

I do not want to use a needle/hook. My mom’s friend used to do it for me but she has moved to Florida and I have forgotten the instructions she gave me. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be great.

I made a few lotus flowers with 5 petals and would like to make them into a border for a purse I am making and I’m trying to figure out how to strand them together into the purse. Should I make it into a granny square or is there another way I can strand them together?

This sweater has lots of little holes in it from moths. It is a plain flat cashmere sweater. Can it be salvaged?

I consider myself a beginner, I have only made blankets, pot holders, and the such. I am interested in finding an easy pattern to make and donate these caps to a hospital. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I know that “do not turn” is usually used when you are working in rounds, but I’m making a straight scarf, so I’m quite confused. I’m right handed, so does this just mean that I work my first row from right to left like I normally do and then my second row from left to right? I’m so confused about this. I’ve never done anything without turning it.
