What is the difference between knitting and crocheting and?

Is a video available if you have no one to teach you in person? Is it more difficult to learn if a person is left handed? When I use a pair of scissors though, I cut right handed so I’m not sure how I would know which hand would do what in knitting or crocheting. Is knitting or crocheting easier for beginners? Sorry for so many questions, but I am curious in case I decided to take up the craft one day.
