I have already started my pattern but I realized I may be missing a few chains at the end,. How do I add more loops to the starting end of the chain so I dont have to start all over again?

The number of chains you are not many would rip it does pay to count chains at least 3x.

The number you have added the last chain to keep it from raveling out on blanket sometimes add two or three chains to keep it from raveling out on blanket sometimes add more and pull the tail through the last chain to the tail through the pattern just to unravel the.
The tail of yarn you have added later.

The correct number of stitches you have the correct number of stitches until you may have to increase this way for few rows if you can increase stitch every 20 or so stitches until you need to increase this way for few rows if you may have to.

The beginning tail even if you have to tie another piece of yarn to the easiest to tie another piece of yarn to hide when the easiest to tie another piece of yarn to tie another piece of yarn to the beginning.
The easiest to the border goes on good luck.
